A new life-coaching service is now available for Bournemouth University students free of charge. Students who may be lacking motivation or need some general guidance, can use the confidential life-coaching to build their personal confidence. The service allows students to create a clear focus for their future and enables them to fulfil their potential.
Barbara Fletcher, who has been an advice worker for thirteen years, has recently qualified as a life-coach and is excited to offer the valuable service to students.
“Life coaching works by allowing people time and space to come to their own decisions and this helps them realise what skills they have and how to apply them.”
Many students find University a stressful and sometimes confusing time. The life-coaching service works by creating clarity by setting small goals which amount to the student’s final goal, be it a work placement or overcoming minor social issues.
“We focus on what you may be feeling bad about and set realistic goals to work towards. Life-coaching does not tell the person what to do, they work it out for themselves.”
Life-coaching is normally an expensive service, with local external life-coaches charging as much as sixty pounds for just forty-five minutes. The university service is completely free and can be accessed by any student.
The sessions take place at Bournemouth House in the Landsdowne campus and can be booked by contacting Barbara Fletcher on bfletcher@bournemouth.ac.uk or telephoning 01202 965764.
