The University sports team’s look set to better their ranking of 38th achieved last year, after a hectic twelve months of competition.
The men’s Golf teams proved to be Bournemouth’s pick of the varsity sports, emphatically winning the Southern Premier division, only losing one match en route to claiming the title.
They also celebrated winning the Team Stroke play championships.
Meanwhile there were double celebrations for the men’s and women’s tennis teams as they gained promotion to the Southern Premier league.
After the men’s team won their regional division, which included three whitewashes, they then defeated UCL in a playoff to qualify for the Premier league.
The women’s team finished runners up and then overcame Imperial college to reach the top flight.
The Indoor cricket team also celebrated promotion to the Premier league and the men’s football team have now moved up to Division 1.
There have also been a wide variety of individual successes this year, including a gold medal in the long jump for Sven Knipphals at the Indoor Athletics Championships in Sheffield.
James Duncan won the U70kg Kumite Karate Championships while Andrew Callaway finished runner up in the Recurve at the Indoor Archery Championships.
